Case Study · Lear Corporation UK

Preliminary Analysis

Before the build, Vivansa ran the year-long analysis that turned Lear Corporation UK's customs compliance into a strategy — the gap analysis, business case, and architecture that framed the Control Tower.

Before a line of the Control Tower was built, Vivansa spent a year understanding the problem. Lear Corporation UK's customs compliance was historically decentralised and manual — and with Brexit reshaping UK–EU trade, cost pressure across the automotive sector, and competitors adopting advanced compliance technology, the status quo was a liability. The goal of the engagement was ambitious: turn customs compliance from an overhead into a competitive advantage.

Context & challenges

Manual, fragmented processes don't scale to the pace and scrutiny of post-Brexit customs. Lear needed a clear-eyed view of where the gaps were, what closing them would cost and return, and what a target architecture should look like — not just for the immediate UK need, but for future international deployment.

Our approach

Vivansa ran a comprehensive preliminary analysis:

  • A gap analysis of the existing compliance processes
  • A cost/benefit evaluation to build the business case
  • An enterprise solution architecture design
  • A phased implementation roadmap

The framework was deliberately designed as a scalable, global blueprint — addressing the UK's immediate requirements while leaving room to extend the same approach to other operations.

Outcomes

The analysis produced the blueprint for a compliance Control Tower — an orchestration platform spanning the whole compliance value chain: supplier qualification, origin determination, pre-filing validation, declaration management, post-filing surveillance, real-time visibility, and automated workflow.

That blueprint is exactly what Vivansa went on to build for Lear — and the groundwork that, in time, led to Viictor.
